Glendora Police and Fish and Wildlife officials were hot on the trail of a roughly 400-pound bear seen earlier Saturday.
The bear was first seen by passersby around 8:30 a.m. and hopped around from yard to yard, said Lt. Rob Lamborghini of Glendora Police.
The bear was seen hopping walls in neighborhoods north of Glendora High School around the 1300 block of East Elmgrove, the 1300 block of East Baxter and was last seen around 10 a.m. at Valley Center Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
“It was one of those rust colored bears. Although I’m told they’re called black bears, it was kind of a reddish brown,” Lamborghini said.
Officers were unable to locate the creature.
