Around 70 athletes, coaches and staff from the South Africa Special Olympics team were treated to a small taste of Glendora Thursday.
The delegation arrived to Centennial Heritage Park, 725 E. Mauna Loa Ave., around 11:30 a.m. and were treated to a lunch courtesy of In N Out. Around 148 hamburgers were prepared for the delegation.
Glendora Mayor Karen Davis and Police Chief Tim Staab greeted athletes and staff.
Afterwards, the delegation was treated to a tour of the historical Rubel Castle, 844 N. Live Oak Ave.
Many of the delegates were left in awe of the odd, but interesting Ruble Castle filled with interesting machinery and memorabilia.
