BREAKING NEWS: Deputies ID Stabbing Suspect

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department today named the man accused of stabbing a female acquaintance multiple times near Charter Oak Day School Monday morning.

Deputies have named 24-year-old Peter Cooley as the suspect who approached his victim while she was skateboarding with friends in the parking lot of the Tri-Community Adult School in Charter Oak around 12:45 a.m. August 3 and stabbed her.

Cooley is still outstanding.

Cooley is believed to be a transient who frequents the Covina and Glendora areas. He is described as a white male with brown hair, blue eyes, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. Cooley has multiple tattoos, notably on his knuckles, the backs of both hands and large letter tattoos on his right forearm, according to deputies in a written statement.

Cooley was riding a bicycle when he approached his 24-year-old victim. After making eye contact, Cooley stabbed the female skater with a knife multiple times.

Fellow skaters of the victim called 911 while Cooley fled on foot, abandoning his bicycle.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is listed in fair condition.
