LA VERNE: Glendora Police Summoned to Aid With Barricaded Suspect

UPDATE, 9:26 p.m.: The man at the center of the standoff in La Verne was arrested earlier Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Arrested was 62-year-old Ronald Rockwell. He was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending an initial court appearance October 1.

PREVIOUS: Glendora Police have been called to a mutual aid response in La Verne, authorities said Tuesday.

The incident is reported as a barricaded suspect in the Casitas Mobile Home Village, 3945 Bradford St. A male suspect made threats against the park manager and said that he would shoot her as well as law enforcement, according to  Lieutenant Tom Frayeh of the La Verne Police Department.

A records check confirmed that the suspect owns at least one gun, Frayeh said.

The incident began around 9:50 a.m.

Glendora Police have their Peacekeeper SWAT vehicle on scene as part of the Foothills Special Enforcement Team, which is a specialized tactical team composed of officers from Monrovia, San Marino, Glendora and La Verne.
