Parent Accused of Battery on Glendora High School Student

A Glendora High School mom was arrested Friday after getting into a scuffle with a student.

Erin Lisa Sims, 49, was arrested and booked on suspicion of battery after allegedly committing battery on a teen boy whom she felt was being rude to her. A second teen boy was also pushed and shoved during the incident. One of the two alleged aggressors also received a scratch during the altercation with Sims, police said.

Police were called to Glendora High School, 1600 E. Foothill Blvd., March 4 at 12:49 p.m.

Sims alleged that the first teen, whom she knows, was being rude to her, so she grabbed him by the shirt and attempted to take him to administrators to be punished, said Lt. Matt Williams of Glendora Police.

In a cell phone video acquired by GCN, Erin’s teen son, who is on crutches, used one of the crutches and hit the alleged rude teen in the back while Sims was hauling him away. The alleged rude teen’s brother came to his defense.

“The boy’s brother starts walking towards Erin’s son. The mom goes back over to what she says to keep them from fighting,” Williams said

The second teen who was shoved back by Sims had his shirt significantly torn.

Administrators and teachers heard the yelling and broke up the fight, Williams said.

Sims was issued a citation and released, according to Glendora Police booking records.
