Glendora Police had a busy Wednesday, arresting two Azusa men and later arresting seven in a house raid, all connected to a stolen truck.
Glendora officers attempted to pull over the driver and passenger inside a Chevy Silverado leaving a house in the 700 block of South Pasadena Avenue before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Azusa Police reported the truck stolen Tuesday night. The driver refused to stop and police pursued the truck for roughly half a mile before the occupants crashed it near the intersection of Colorado and Westridge avenues, said Sgt. Marty Barrett of Glendora Police.
The suspects were captured and arrested soon after.
Azusa residents Robert Montoya, 19, and Christian Castaneda, 22, were booked at the Glendora jail. Montoya was booked on suspicion of identity theft and vehicle theft. Detailed booking information for Castaneda was not yet available, but he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to county records. Montoya is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Officers recovered stolen items inside the truck, including ammunition, said Captain Joe Ward of Glendora Police. Officers obtained a search warrant for the house on South Pasadena Avenue.
Glendora Police and the Foothills Special Enforcement Team deployed to the house after 3:30 p.m. Authorities detained two people leaving the house before the search warrant could be served. Seven additional people were detained inside the house, including a male who tried to flee out a rear door, Ward said.
Those seven occupants were eventually arrested.
Police are still in the process of booking the seven occupants from the Pasadena Avenue home.
