A 19 year-old who threatened violence is in custody thanks to the dedication of parents, Glendora Police and the Principal at Sierra High School in Glendora.
Tuesday evening there were threats to Sierra Continuation High School via social media. These do not appear to be related to the previous clown threats GCN reported that were to visit Glendora on Tuesday night as well.
Parents began to report messages to Sierra High School administration around 8am Wednesday morning, that their kids had seen on social media throughout the night before.
The school’s Principal immediately got the school’s police resource officer involved. The threat was made from a social media site on Facebook and Instagram named ‘Clowner Hoe’.
One of the messages directed to Sierra High School read “Sierra skool gonna get hit mr say your blessing #fuckskooliwasclassclown”.
Shortly after, another message talked about killing in El Monte by shooting.
According to Glendora Lieutenant James De Mond, Glendora detectives found an address that had been posted on an earlier page post to a home in Azusa. It turns out the residents there helped police identify a relative of theirs, 19 year-old William Salazar, who was a former student at Sierra High School.
The relatives had received a friend request from Salazar with the same name of Clowner Hoe. Police also tracked down a girlfriend of Salazar who admitted to getting the same friend request.
Following another lead from the investigation, a Glendora Detective along with a task force went to an address up in Kern County. Around 3pm today, Salazar was located and arrested there in Kern County to be brought back to Glendora for charges.
Salazar is being held on $50,000 bail with a charge of 422 PC, terrorist threats and is due in court Friday, Oct 7.
Although Sierra Continuation High School is located in Glendora, at 1134 S. Barranca Avenue, it is part of the Azusa Unified School District.
