The Glendora High School Class of 2017 is set to graduate this Wednesday night, May 24, but they will first take place in a pre-ceremonial walk back at their former elementary schools.
The graduating seniors will return to their former elementary schools on Tuesday, May 23, the day before the official graduation. Current elementary students will line up to cheer on the Class of 2017 as they march through the hallways to the Graduation March Song.
Other schools throughout the nation have done this and Glendora PTA and GHS Administrators thought it would be fun to implement for our district. Many of the GHS students are very excited about the opportunity to walk back at their former elementary schools.
“I think it’s going to be an amazing experience walking back around our elementary schools. It’s exciting seeing where we all started our lives and seeing the teachers that helped mold us into the people we are today”, said Jacob Shinall, a senior at GHS.
The elementary march will take place at 11am at all elementary schools within Glendora Unified with the exception of Cullen Elementary, who will do theirs at 11:45am.
Glendora City News would like to wish our Glendora and Charter Oak Classes of 2017 the best as they set out on the next chapter of their lives.
