First Christian Church Public Art Launch

The Glendora Chamber of Commerce was pleased to help First Christian Church and its Art Academy with their public art launch that will be done on the bell tower and throughout the exterior of the church building in the coming months.

Rev. Karen Davis gave a brief history of the church, built in 1922, and introduced the artists that will be doing the artwork, Mary Blandino and Adam Wiser. Mary revealed the rendering of what she and her team will be doing on the historic building at 300 N. Glendora Ave to include an abstracted rainbow that will accentuate the beautiful architecture of the building. The colors will be pulled from the stained glass throughout the church, including the butterfly-shaped arches in the windows. The butterfly theme will be carried throughout to represent transformation.

County Supervisor Katherine Barger, the City of Glendora by Councilmember David Fredendall, and the Glendora Chamber by Executive Board Member Nikole Pearce.
