For the second time, Glendora’s very own Cake Mamas are being featured on The Food Network.
Their episode will air tonight between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. depending on your service provider. The theme for tonight’s competition with other sugar artists is “Lego” and by the looks of the trailer being shown, there are some very amazing Lego inspired designs created in the episode. This time, with $10,000 on the line, they will appear on Cake Wars.
Janelle Copeland, owner of The Cake Mamas is very proud at what they have been able to accomplish and showcase.
“We were super excited about Cake Wars because we are not just a bakery. We are artists and we make fabulous masterpiece cakes, so this was a great opportunity to showcase our talents and remind people that we do way more than just cupcakes,” Copeland said.
The Cake Mamas first opened their shop in Glendora in 2010 and have since played an active part in the community through private orders, school fundraisers and community events. Since their opening they have continued to help do Wish Reveal parties, where Make A Wish children are notified their wishes are being granted, helping this reporter to surprise Glendora area children battling life threatening illnesses.
In January 2012, The Cake Mamas made their debut on the network’s popular Cupcake Wars, taking home the victory. This time, with $10,000 on the line, they are on Cake Wars.
There will be a viewing party at T. Phillips in The Glendora Village starting at 4:30 p.m. for anyone interested in watching with The Cake Mamas on directv, airing at 5 p.m. People are encouraged to come early to get a seat or simply stop by just to wish them well for the show airing, which was previously recorded. Obviously, they are aware if they already won, but they are not letting the cat out of the bag just yet to the public, so tune in tonight.
