Firefighters continue their assault on the stubborn Cabin Fire which is still burning Saturday morning about 15 miles north of Glendora.
The US Forest Service reported that 2,500 acres have been scorched. Containment stands at 0 percent. Approximately 462 fire fighters are assigned to the incident. The Little Jimmy Trail Camp, West Fork Area and East Fork Area have also been evacuated.
Helitankers are currently working the Cabin Fire, locating hotspots and flareups around the fire’s perimeter, the USFS said.
Five firefighters were injured yesterday. Most suffered from heat related illnesses and one firefighter was treated for a bee sting, said John Wagner of the US Forest Service.
