Although nearby Azusa has a Chick-fil-A, Glendora has secured its own location for the popular chicken sandwich restaurant .
The fast food chain has signed a lease with a developer in the Marketplace off Lone Hill Ave. and Gladstone St, in front of the recently announced Sports Authority. Glendora City Manager Chris Jeffers confirmed this announcement to GCN.
Chick-fil-A will occupy a 4,200 sqft pad site near Sports Authority and there may be one other smaller fast food style restaurant in the location, which has yet to be determined.
Both Sports Authority and Chick-fil-A are seemingly on the same time frame, with construction looking to turn over the building shells during Spring 2016. At that point both companies will begin the build-out of their respective businesses, both aiming for a Fall 2016 opening, Jeffers added.
With the first Chick-fil-A opening in Atlanta, Georgia in 1967, the restaurant chain has grown to more than 1,700 stores throughout 38 states. For those not familiar with them, their simple menu focuses around chicken sandwiches and all locations are closed on Sundays.
