Record-Breaking Heat Scorches Glendora

Scorching heat has set a new record in Glendora Sunday.

The GCN weather gauge has recorded a high of 111 degrees Sunday afternoon, which has broken the previous record of 106, set on this day in 1929.

The National Weather Service also reports a high of 111 degrees from their gauge located at Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale.

An excessive heat warning has been issued and will go into effect Monday, June 20 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with an elevated fire danger expected through Tuesday.

A red flag warning is also in effect for Los Angeles County mountains through Tuesday as low humidity and high temperatures will persist throughout the week.
