The Gold Line Foothill Construction Authority will begin testing trains on the remaining 11.5 miles of light rail through several cities including Glendora beginning this afternoon.
The train testing is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will take place five days a week in Irwindale, Azusa and Glendora, running through early August. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will conduct traffic on at-grade crossings, said Construction Authority officials in a written statement.
Additional testing may occur and will be conducted on an as-needed basis.
Bells at the grade crossings will be disabled to reduce noise during testing and train operators may use the optional “Quiet Zone” horns, the Construction Authority said.
Construction Authority officials anticipate the Foothill Extension’s completion in late September.
