The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch, which will go into effect Sunday.

The Flash Flood Watch will last from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as this next winter storm is expected to bring up to one to two inches across most of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with up to three inches possible across southwest-facing foothills and mountains.

Light rain is expected early Sunday with heavier showers to hit late Sunday morning and a chance for thunderstorms to hit into the afternoon.

Mud and debris flows are possible in the recent burn areas. Rainfall rates could exceed one half inch per hour, the NWS said.

City officials said Friday that the Colby Fire Alert Status will be raised to yellow on Sunday as the rains approach.
