The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for recent burn areas, including the Colby Fire burn area.

A dynamic late season storm will move through the area later today, bringing a chance of thunderstorms through the end of Sunday. Rainfall rates could exceed one half inch per hour and could cause mud and debris flows, the NWS said.

The flash flood watch was issued at 12 p.m. today and will continue through Sunday evening.

There is a 70 percent chance for rain throughout the day Saturday and a 90 percent chance for rain later tonight. Rain will diminish through Sunday night.

Monday brings a 50 percent chance during the day and will taper off by Monday night.
