An alleged Walmart thief escaped police Sunday night during a reckless pursuit.
The driver of a white 4-door vehicle fled Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Dr. after officers were called at 10:02 p.m. to a theft in progress. The suspect entered the southbound 57 freeway from Auto Centre as officers arrived, said Sgt. Chris Stabio of Glendora Police.
“The suspect immediately fled upon seeing the officers,” Stabio said.
The suspect drove in a reckless manner on the freeway and exited onto Arrow Highway and was able to elude officers. Police decided to cancel the pursuit in the area of Arrow Highway and the 57 freeway, Stabio said.
