Helen Storland has been named the 2016 Glendora Citizen of the Year.
The Glendora Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Glendora resident Helen Storland has been selected as the 2016 Glendora Citizen of the Year. Helen will be honored at the 69th Annual Glendora Citizen of the Year Banquet on Thursday, April 20th at the Glendora Country Club.
Helen has made numerous important contributions to the welfare of the Glendora community for many years. As a Reading Specialist, while teaching for over 30 years in the Glendora Unified School District, Helen has a heart for literacy.
After retiring she used her passion to start the Glendora Community Read-In program. Helen is also an active member of the Glendora Woman’s Club, is currently serving a third term as a Glendora Library Board of Trustee, sits on the Glendora Library Friends Foundation Board, is member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and is an active member of Glendora United Methodist Church to name a few.
Helen exemplifies the definition of a true community partner and is most deserving for this year’s honor.
Please join us in congratulating Helen Storland for being chosen as the 2016 Glendora Citizen of the Year and join us April 20th to help celebrate with her.
