Fire crews have made good progress on the stubborn Cabin Fire, which continues to burn about 15 miles north of Glendora.
The US Forest Service reported the fire has burned 1,723 acres of rugged forest land and is 84 percent contained. Five structures have been destroyed and 10 fire fighters have been treated for minor injuries.
Approximately 684 fire fighters are continuing to work on containment.
The fire erupted Friday, August 14 about 3 miles north of Rincon-Redbox Road near Highway 39. The triple-digit temperatures and winds mixed with the heavy brush in the steep terrain allowed the fire to spread rapidly.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
