Glendora Police are still investigating a solo crash that destroyed a power pole and left hundreds of customers without electricity.
No injuries occurred in the crash at Sierra Madre and Grand avenues around 8:24 p.m. The driver of a white Chevy SUV was northbound on Grand and attempted a left turn onto westbound Sierra Madre. The slick road caused the driver to jump the curb and severely damage a power pole, said Lt. Matt Williams of Glendora Police.
About 870 customers lost power due to the crash. As of 12:01 a.m., 115 customers remain in the dark as Edison crews work to restore power.
No alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. No other occupant was inside the SUV, Williams said.
It is unknown how fast the driver was going, or if the driver ran a red light. Police have yet to interview an eyewitness to the collision,Williams said.
