With the Ralphs supermarket about to bid Glendora adieu, city officials will discuss what may eventually claim territory at the soon-to-be vacated property.
The city has already received an application for façade improvements and the division of the existing 6.22-acre property at 655 S. Grand Ave. One of the two proposed building pads would house a drive-thru restaurant, according to city documents.
The applicant, Greg Sagherian, desires to split the 75,786-square-foot property into multiple tenants, 22,000 and 30,000 square feet, including about 12,550 square feet of retail space, a 4,000-square-foot retail building pad, a quick-serve restaurant and a 2,400-square-foot drive-thru fast food restaurant.
In some of the proposed development renderings, a Sprouts Farmers Market is shown as a tenant of the site. GCN has not yet officially confirmed that Sprouts will be coming to Glendora, but four years ago, the market was planned to have a home in the Glendora Marketplace. Those plans have seemingly stagnated.
Parking improvements, including additional parking spaces, are also part of the minor conditional use permit application, City Staff said.
The Planning Commission meeting is scheduled to discuss this and other items tonight at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 116 E. Foothill Blvd.
