Glendora Police officers conducted an undercover DUI/driver license sting near the West Covina Courthouse February 10, netting five citations for refusal to obey by a judge’s orders not to drive.
The sting was conducted outside the West Covina Courthouse, where officers waited for and followed 11 offenders who were unlicensed, or whose licenses were revoked or suspended. The offenders were followed from the courthouse to their vehicles and while some did find alternate forms of transportation, five individuals drove away, despite the judge’s orders, said Glendora Police in a written statement.
Those five individuals were cited back into court and could face longer suspensions in addition to other financial penalties including attorney fees, court costs, lost time at work, and the potential loss of job or job prospects. Their vehicles were also impounded, police said.
The undercover sting was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
