UPDATE, 10:35 a.m.: Authorities have reopened eastbound lanes of the 210 freeway. A Sig Alert has been issued for an unknown duration for the westbound HOV, No. 1, 2 , 3 and 4 lanes, the CHP reported.
PREVIOUS: Two people were killed Wednesday after a multi-vehicle collision on the westbound Interstate 210 freeway east of Lone Hill Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said.
Los Angeles County Firefighters are tending to at least two critical patients in the collision. Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol have shut down all lanes of the 210 freeway in order to land two helicopters to transport the patients, according to firefighter radio traffic.
How many total patients is unknown at this time, but there are two confirmed two fatalities, said Officer Monica Posada of the CHP.
Three vehicles, a white truck, a maroon sedan and a a pickup truck, collided with each other in the HOV and No. 1 lanes of traffic around 9:40 a.m., according to CHP traffic logs.
One of the two airsquads lifted off with at least one patient at 10:08 a.m.
