UPDATED: The Fish Fire is now at over 2,000 acres as of 5:00pm, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department’s twitter feed.
PREVIOUS: Firefighters continue to battle an aggressive brush fire burning above Azusa and Duarte Monday.
The Fish Fire burning above Azusa and Duarte has scorched 1,000 acres with no containment yet established.
Azusa Police have ordered mandatory evacuations for the Mountain Cove gated community and Rainbow Ranch neighborhood. Evacuations are voluntary for the Mirador neighborhood.
In Duarte, officials have ordered mandatory evacuations from the 3100 block to the 3500 block of Brookridge Road, according to Duarte city officials.
Evacuees from the Mountain Cove and Rainbow Ranch communities can seek shelter at Duarte City Hall, 1600 Huntington Drive.
Domestic pets can be taken to Memorial Park in Azusa, 320 N. Orange Pl. Large and exotic animals can be taken to Cal Poly Pomona.
Mutual aid assistance is being provided by the Covina, Irwindale, Pomona and Glendora police departments, as well as deputies from the Industry Sheriff’s station and the California Highway Patrol.
