Newsweek recently released their list of the nation’s best achieving high schools with Glendora making the cut once again.
Glendora High School was ranked number 326 out of 500 on Newsweek’s list of America’s Top High Schools 2016. In California, 51 high schools made the cut, with Glendora High School coming in number 36 … there are 4,495 total high schools in the state, said Rob Voors, Glendora Unified School District Superintendent.
The methodology used to determine school rankings involved an analysis to identify schools with the highest academic achievement based on student proficiency with student scores on state standardized assessments, using data from the National Center for Education Statistics.
Two lists were created, an absolute list and a relative list. The absolute list ranks schools solely on achievement and college readiness indicators, while the relative list ranks the highest performing schools after accounting for student poverty levels, according to the methodology report.
