The process of hiring the next Chief for the Glendora Police Department is complete.
Lisa Rosales has been tapped as the next Police Chief by City Manager Chris Jeffers and ratified by the Glendora City Council on Wednesday with a unanimous 5-0 vote. The council met with her privately, followed by a special public session shortly after where it was made official.
She will begin her duties on February 6, 2017, according to a written agenda from the City of Glendora.

Rosales becomes the ninth Chief in the city’s history and the first woman to hold the prestigious rank. Over 30 candidates applied in a nationwide search, ultimately the list narrowed to three, before Rosales was chosen as the finalist to head our department.
Rosales, an outsider, has been the Chief in the City of San Pablo for the last three years. San Pablo is a city just north of Oakland with a population of around 30,000.
Prior to becoming the San Pablo Chief, Rosales was a Police Commander for the Pasadena Police Department so she is no stranger to Southern California. In fact, she hails from this area and even has ties to Glendora, where she has owned a home for 19 years.

Rosales was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts at the University of San Diego in 1986 and also a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of La Verne in 2004.
Seemingly more than qualified, Rosales was chosen over many qualified candidates and is “An excellent fit to fulfilling the leadership, expectations and responsibilities as Glendora’s Police Chief”, according to City Manager Chris Jeffers.
Rosales took the opportunity at the open council meeting to introduce herself and communicated how she is looking forward to rejoining the Glendora community and its residents.
