The California Highway Patrol reports the pursuit suspect at the center of a police search was taken into custody.
Officer Fancisco Villalobos from the CHP Traffic Management Center reported a suspect was arrested at 9:19 p.m., 10 minutes after he crashed in a neighborhood south of Whitcomb Continuation High School Sunday night.
Villalobos was unsure if the suspect had been booked yet as of 11:30 p.m.
A perimeter search continued for about an hour after the man was reportedly taken into custody, although it is not known why the search continued so long.
Glendora Lt. Scott Strong was unaware of any arrests made.
CHP officers initiated the pursuit at 9:07 p.m. on the westbound Interstate 210 freeway. Two minutes later, the suspect crashed along Baseline Road. It was not immediately known what object or objects the suspect hit, Villalobos said.
The suspect fled on foot and officers from the CHP and Glendora Police searched with the help of a helicopter.
The helicopter reportedly had to make an emergency landing on a field at Whitcomb Continuation High School. It was not immediately known why the helicopter had to land.
