The male hiker found buried under debris near a hiking trail in the San Gabriel Mountains was identified over the weekend.
Harry Samuel Bash, 67, died as the result of an accident from multiple blunt force injuries said Lt. Fred Corral of the Office of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
The body was discovered September 19 just after 5 p.m. near Prairie Fork Road, south of the Bridge to Nowhere by a male hiker.
The hiker who discovered the body phoned his girlfriend, who then phoned the Sheriff’s Department, said Sgt. Vicki Gregory of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.
Bash’s body was discovered pinned under debris in the forest and was recovered September 20 and flown by helicopter.
