Police are investigating why a man fired a gun at another man Sunday night in a shopping center parking lot.

The driver of a white car pulled up to his intended victim in the Vons parking lot, 431 E. Arrow Hwy, yelled something inaudible to him and then fired three rounds, completely missing him, police said.

Officers responded to the call at 7:33 p.m.

The victim was unharmed, but nearby vehicles were struck by stray bullets, said Lt. Scott Strong of Glendora Police.

Strong did not want to disclose the caliber fired.

“It was unprovoked. They didn’t know each other and the reason for the shooting was unknown,” Strong said.

The suspect described as a white male was last seen fleeing west on Arrow Highway in a white car.

Anyone with information can call Glendora Police at (626) 914-8250.
