Not necessarily planned because of Halloween, the Glendora Police Department is doing a probation check on at least nine 290 PC registrants.
290 PC registrants are sex offenders currently on parole or serving probation for their crimes.
The Glendora Police Department Investigations Bureau monitors all Glendora registered sex offenders in Glendora throughout the year.
They conduct annual registration checks/updates and residence verification checks of all sex registrants to verify their residence and make sure they are in compliance with state and city laws.
Monday morning, Detectives conducted home compliance checks on the 9 registered sex offenders that are currently on probation or parole.
According to Glendora Lieutenant James De Mond, the parole checks began Monday morning and are intended to act as not only a check for violations, but to remind the registrants of their terms or probation or parole.
“Those who have conditions that they cannot be around children were advised not to hand out candy during Halloween. None of the residences were decorated for Halloween”, De Mond said.
The searches include the houses where registrants live, and even their electronic devices, for material that they are prevented from having under conditions of their probation.
The searches were all completed by Monday afternoon with no violations found by Glendora Detectives.
