During this Covid-19 outbreak our healthcare heroes face a struggle to keep protective supplies available while taking care of the sick in our hospitals, and on residential emergency calls.
Emanate Health, owner of Emanate Health Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital, along with other healthcare professionals are seeking help from the public. As you may know, many hospitals are short of personal protective equipment necessary to keep our doctors and nurses safe during the Covid-19 outbreak. There has been an appeal for homemade face masks and donations of PPE from private businesses that may have a supply on hand like, construction companies, painters, manufacturers, and any personal supplies the public may have that are not currently needed.
Our hospitals have appealed for contributions that will give physicians and nurses the tools necessary to help keep our community safe and slow the spread of the virus. Requested items are:
- N95 Masks
- Procedure (or Surgical) Masks
- Isolation Gowns
- Goggles
- Face Shields
- Shoe Covers
- Bouffants
- Gloves
Also, for those interested in making masks instructions for homemade masks can be found on YouTube. After doing some research on what nurses are looking for here are a couple of examples of how to do it.
The Emanate Health Foundation has a drop-off location at Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital. Please contact them at 626.814.2421 or Foundation@EmanateHealth.org for instructions for delivery.
Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital requests donations be dropped off at the front lobby where security personnel are available to assist 24/7.
If you are unable to deliver items to the hospitals, there will be local Glendora drop-off locations, including in front of the Glendora Chamber of Commerce office at 224 N. Glendora Ave, with other locations being added soon. Chamber staff and others will make sure the supplies are delivered. If you are unable to leave your home but want to donate supplies contact the Glendora Chamber using the contact form HERE and a pick-up will be arranged.
