UPDATE, 1:18 p.m.: As of 11:49 a.m., only nine customers were still affected by the initial 2,011-customer outage while Edison crews conducted repair work in affected areas, said Paul Netter with Southern California Edison.
The outage boundaries were Orangepath Street on the north, Grand Avenue on the East, Alosta Avenue on the south and Vecino Avenue on the west.
PREVIOUS: Southern California Edison crews are working to reestablish power to 2,247 customers who lost power in the northern portion of town.
Two separate outages occurred this morning. The original outage began at 8 a.m. due to an equipment upgrade near South Valley Center Avenue and East Foothill Boulevard, affecting 236 customers. Power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m., said Paul Netter with SoCal Edison.
The second outage reportedly occurred 10:16 a.m. near South Loraine and East Foothill Boulevard and is affecting 2,011 customers, according to the Southern California Edison website.
The cause of the second outage has not yet been disclosed. The estimated restoration time was expected at 11:30 a.m., but another call to Edison has yet to be returned.
