After being released from a medical facility Tuesday, Glendora officers arrested the man who fired a 20 gauge shotgun inside his home.
Joseph Reyes, 40, was arrested after being discharged from Inter-Community Hospital in Covina September 22 and was booked on suspicion of willfully discharging a firearm with gross negligence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Reyes was initially held in lieu of $135,000 bail before being released for an initial court appearance September 24.
Reyes was being treated at the hospital for a medical condition, said Lt. Matt Egan of Glendora Police.
The reported shooting started Sunday, September 19 in the 300 block of Crestglen Road where Reyes unloaded a 20 gauge shotgun inside his home, breaking at least one window. Police detained him without incident and had him placed on a 5150 hold.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed two felony counts of negligent discharge of a firearm against Reyes, according to Cpt. Joe Ward of Glendora Police.
Reyes is scheduled to appear in court next on October 20, according to county booking records.
