High winds are sweeping across the Los Angeles County and surrounding areas and are expected to cause issues into Sunday.
Potentially damaging north to northeast winds began developing Friday evening with strong gusts reported in the passes and canyons of the San Gabriel Mountains and east towards San Dimas through midnight, according to the National Weather Service.
La Cañada Flintridge reported gusts of or around 5o miles per hour. Wind gusts are expected to reach 70 miles per hour in the mountain areas, while other areas could see gusty winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour, the NWS said.
A high wing warning is in effect until 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
Major roads that can be affected include Intestate 210 freeway, Highway 39 and Angeles Crest Highway.
Driving could be made difficult for drivers of high profile vehicles and drivers towing vehicles, the NWS said.
Winds could down trees, power lines and other property.
