A Glendora business owner suffered only minor injuries after getting into a brief altercation with strong arm robbers, then being pulled and dragged almost 20 feet by their vehicle.
Officers and Detectives from the Glendora Police Department wasted no time, making an arrest just 24 hours after the robbery.
Tools valued at over $5,000 were taken in the robbery
The incident happened Thursday morning at KB Engineering at 540 S. Pasadena Ave, just north of Route 66 in Glendora. Steve Hunt, who owns the company was the victim.
Hunt noticed a female sitting in a car in front of the business. Once approached, she gave a false story about her husband looking for work. Hunt then went to the side of his property looking for her husband.
The male suspect snuck out the other side of the building, placing items, which turned out to be expensive tools, in the back seat. The female returned promptly to the car, ahead of Hunt. Hunt followed her, noticing items in the back seat and questioned the suspects while leaning into the vehicle pointing.

The male suspect driving the older model white compact car, proceeded to quickly put the car into reverse. Hunt’s arm, stuck inside, then was dragged at least 20 feet as the vehicle reversed. At some point his arm and clothing became dislodged, then causing him to tumble into the street.
When Hunt finally came to a stop in the middle of the street, the suspect then changed direction, narrowly missing him as they drove forward passed him.
Hunt said he thought at that moment he was going to die.
“I saw them stopped in front of me as I was on the ground and I thought this was it, it’s over. I was going to die”. Hunt told GCN.

Corporal Matt Fenner along with Detective Zach Houser of the Glendora Police Department were able to get some early leads and quickly identified the suspect as 25 year-old Jonathan Lucero of Hesperia. Lucero was then arrested by Alhambra Police after they ran the license plate in their city early this morning.
Lucero is facing charges of 211 PC, robbery and 487(a) PC, grand theft. It is not clear if the female suspect will face any charges.
The tools taken were recovered by Glendora Police and returned to Hunt at his business Friday afternoon. The tools were valued at over $5,000. Also recovered were car keys and payroll checks taken from Hunt’s office.
