The National Weather Service has changed its initial rain models, stating that the period for intense rains will occur between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., said City Manager Chris Jeffers.
The Glendora foothills stand to receive about 3 inches of rain, while higher elevations, such as Mount Baldy, could receive as much as 8 inches.
City crews and county fire fighters responded to six incidents since the 6 a.m. hour, mostly calls to clear mud and debris from city drains and roadways, removing trash cans in the road and repositioning cement k-rails along Rainbow Drive.
Glendora Police officers, including detectives, are ready to deploy and evacuate residents in the case that intense mudslides do occur, said Police Chief Tim Staab.
