The Charter Oak Education Foundation donated a large sum of money June 11 to the Charter Oak Unified School District to further educational efforts districtwide.
The donation totaling $20,000 will be used for the purchase of 3D printers, Mac computers, scanners and printer supplies for the district’s technology program.
The funding was generated by the Education Foundation board, realty partners, staff donation partners, community members and business partners through events, such as last fall’s 5K/1 Mile Run/Walk and the Annual Hall of Fame Gala, said Foundation member Jane Bock in a written statement.
The Charter Oak Education Foundation, formerly known as COPE, also offers various activities throughout the year, including the Elementary Summer Enrichment Program, the Afterschool Band and Strings Program and the 6th Grade March Madness Basketball Tournament.
