Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a stabbing attack near Cienega and Bonnie Cove avenues that occurred Monday morning.
The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was stabbed multiple times by an apparent male acquaintance while she was skating with friends in the parking lot of the Tri-Community Adult School, 20350 E. Cienega Ave. The woman was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
Deputies responded to the stabbing around 12:45 a.m. The man, described as a well known transient, rode up to the group of skaters on a bicycle and for unknown reasons began stabbing the woman with a sharp object, said Lt. Elizabeth Sachs of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.
Sachs was unsure of what motivated the suspect to stab his acquaintance.
The suspect fled on foot, leaving his bicycle behind, Sachs said.
According to broadcast traffic, the stabbing suspect is described as a male white, 24 years old with blue eyes and short brown hair. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds.
