UPDATE, 2:50 p.m.: Forward progress has stopped with the Burro Fire in the Angeles National Forest.
The fire is 70 percent contained and U.S. Forest Service firefighters have hose lines around 100 percent of the fire, according to USFS broadcast traffic.
UPDATE 12:10 p.m.: The fire is possibly four to five acres in size.
Good progress is being made with tankers and helicopters, according to USFS broadcast traffic.
The fire is still creeping to the east with an easterly wind beginning to drive it to westward.
PREVIOUS: U.S. Forest Service firefighters are battling a three-acre brush fire near the Burro Canyon Shooting range above Azusa Saturday.
Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service responded some time around 11 a.m. to the fire near the 22100 block of East Fork Road. The fire has a slow to moderate rate of spread in the hills, according to USFS broadcast traffic.
U.S. Forest Service firefighters have also requested aircraft to help with the attack.
The California Highway Patrol may initiate a hard closure of East Fork Road for three to five hours during the operation.
The fire is reportedly burning away from structures near Burrow Canyon.
Los Angeles County Firefighters are sending two engines to assist, the USFS reported.
