Glendora Police are investigating the circumstances behind the death of a woman found along the railroad tracks behind the Dodge dealership near Lone Hill Avenue Thursday.
Police and Los Angeles County Firefighters responded to a call from a Metrolink worker about the discovery of a dead body around 10:09 a.m., said Glendora Police Chief Tim Staab.
The victim is a white female and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Sarah Rodriguez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
Police would not reveal the circumstances behind the death, nor her age or description.
It does not appear the woman was hit by a train, Staab said.
An eyewitness described the response to the body found near the tracks. She knew the woman was likely deceased after first responders arrived and within minutes they didn’t appear to rush to transport her.
The eyewitness also saw the expression on the faces of the Metrolink workers and knew the woman was deceased.
Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are en route to take over the investigation. They are called on all death investigations and this does not necessarily indicate a homicide.
