Enjoy the natural wonders our planet has to offer and more at Glendora’s Earth Day Celebration this Saturday.
The free event is scheduled Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the plaza between City Hall and the Glendora Public Library. The event will feature workshops, exhibits, tours and activities for children.
Residents can learn about smart gardening, composting and saving water with native plants and efficient irrigation for gardening.
Residents can also dispose of used motor oil, oil filters and unwanted or expired medication at designated collection sites near the Earth Day event. Document shredding will also be available.
A community bike ride for riders at least 12 years old will wind around a new route to showcase the city’s “charming residential neighborhoods, to its majestic mountain areas,” organizers said. Riders under 15 years old must wear a helmet.
The animal magic show by John Abrams is an interactive event involving live exotic animals, music and more.
Eco tours will take riders up to the Glendora foothills to view the plant varieties that call the Glendora hills their home.
